Assignment 4.1:
At this session we will be mainly doing two
things, doing internet research and making presentation materials. In order to
do the internet research you may consider the following information about
internet research tools.
1.
Search Engines:
In order to do an internet research we need
reliable tools to search for abundant information in the Internet. The tool to
do so is normally known as 'search engines'. The 'Search Engine' is a web-based
software that is designed to search for information in the Internet. People
today rely heavily on search engines to find information they want. This is
because by using search engines people can find almost any kind of information,
food, drink, direction, job vacancies, sales etc. The most popular search engines
today is google (eBizMBA, 2014), probably not a single internet user not
knowing what google is. But is it only google that we can rely on to find
information on the Internet? Of course not. The following is a website that
list many other websites that can be useful for internet research:
There are also two videos on YouTube
explaining about startegies to use search engines:
More detailed information about search engines
can be found in section 5 of this course.
Having learned how to search effectively on
the interenet using search engines. It is time for you now to research about'
what CALL is?' and 'The History of CALL'. You begin the research by firstly
visiting the links below to get a picture how people see the history of CALL,

2.
Evaluating information on the Internet
Anyone can publish on the interent. Thus
information reliability and validity should be well considered when dealing
with information found in the internet. Otherwise. we will be misinformed and
end up with making wrong decision. The following sites gives some ideas of how
to evaluate information found in the Internet.

3.
Presenting information using timeline
One way to present information is by using timeline. It is a visual representation of informations arranged in chronological order. There are many ways to create timeline. Below are some tools that can be used to create a timeline.
If you
want to know how others make timeline see some examples of Timeline that

How to use timeline to support teaching
Once we can make
timeline and r teach our students to make timelines. Then the next think to to
consider for teachers are how they can use the timeline to support their
teaching. Below is a link to a web page provindg information of how tie line
can be used to support teaching:
Assignment 4.2:
Comment on one of your friends opinion
on the discussion in session 3
Assignment 4.3:
Now that you have learned how to make
timeline. It is time for you to create your own timeline an interactive
timeline. by using either tool as mentioned above. Alternatively you can also
choose tool of your choice. In this assignment, you have to make Timeline about
the development of CALL in history. The information can be found in the links
in point 1 or you can do the web research using the suggested method above 9
(see point 1 search engines).
Once you finished making
your timeline, you can either save it in PDF and send me the PDF file or just
